**2nd Line Support Engineer**
**Hybrid - 50/50, 3 month contract**
We are working alongside a world leading FMCG business that is looking for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to be part of a team that is responsible for developing, implementing and continuously enhancing the IT Services that support the business processes.The Site IT Services team sits within Core Services, who strive to produce role model infrastructure service management.
**The Role as a 2nd Line Support Engineer**
This role is based in Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire with some travel to multiple local sites.You will be responsible for the maintenance & continuous improvement of the infrastructure environment, the delivery of on-site user support & the deploymentof infrastructure projects. An important part of the role is to be a key link between central infrastructure teams and the local sites.
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the managed service delivers a highly responsive infrastructure support service to our associates. This includes local site support of PCs, mobile devices & video conferencing.
- Ensuring all locally hosted infrastructure components (such as site servers, LAN, computer room, business partner links & backups) are supported & maintained within agreed SLAs by our service providers.
- Ensuring business disruption is minimised, appropriate communication is done and change is delivered within budget and on time.
- Planning & managing hardware replacement cycles (servers, PCs etc.) & related budgets
- Working closely with business partnership, in order to understand local business needs, agree activities we can deliver, share information about upcoming changes, etc.
- Tracking & reporting on the service status at the site(s).
**2nd Line Support Engineer Experience and Qualifications**
Ideally you will be highly motivated and have a real passion for IT and customer service.You will require a broad knowledge of hands-on IT experience, with a strong drive in continuous improvement.
You will hold an IT related degree, or have relevant level of experience to undertake this role.Some experience delivering an IT service would be an advantage.
