**About the Team**:
Dumfries disease surveillance centre is situated in the southwest of Scotland and provides a diagnostic and consultancy service to farmers of the area and their veterinary surgeons. The centre manages both the sheep and cattle health schemes such offered by SRUC.

The centre is currently staffed by a veterinary manager and a team of veterinary investigation officers.

**About the Opportunity**:
This is a part-time (21 hours per week, fixed term role for 9 months.

**Duties Include**:

- Work in an environment that is governed by the ISO17025 standard.
- Process samples with regard to Health & Safety and adhering to SOPs.
- Be responsible for monitoring the performance of equipment within the laboratory daily and reporting to the Line Manager.
- Be responsible for designated housekeeping duties to ensure integrity of results - reporting to the Line Manager.
- Participate in appropriate IQA/EQA to maintain competency.
