**About The Team**:
The Veterinary and Animal Science team at SRUC Barony, located in Dumfries, is part of Scotland's Rural College (SRUC). This team is dedicated to providing comprehensive education and training in veterinary care and animal welfare.

**The Opportunity**:
We are looking for a Technical Support Officer (Equine) to join our team friendly team at Barony.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will be to attend to the care of our equines, ensuring high welfare standards are maintained at all times. The facility is used to support the delivery of practical teaching sessions for students undertaking courses at SRUC Barony.

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

- Provision of food and water for horses and livestock
- Cleaning stables and field maintenance
- Leading horses to and from fields and stable

This is a fixed term, zero-hour contract.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
There is no formal qualification required for this role, although British Horse Society qualifications or National Certificate in Equine Studies or Agriculture or Animal Care would be desirable (SCQF Level 5). Additional training will be provided for care of livestock/equines if required.
