Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) have an exciting opportunity for Control Centre Support Officers to join our existing Control Centre team as we develop our scope and become future ready. The Control Centre team are responsible for overseeing activity of the entire Greater Manchester transport network 24/7, 365 days per year, from ensuring traffic signals are keeping traffic flowing to management of serious incidents affecting public transport, particularly bus and tram.
You will have experience of stakeholder liaison and be able to clearly triage and prioritise information using your existing decision-making skills, to enable you to quickly respond to incidents across the transport network. You will also have knowledge and understanding of GDPR and Data Protection as well as experience of working with safety related policies and procedures. You’ll also be able to use multiple systems and software packages.
You will be provided with support through an extensive coaching and development framework, in conjunction with your assigned coach for your first 4 to 6 weeks in the role. The framework will coach and guide you through a series of modules which encompass the modal knowledge required to become competent in the role.
You be required to work on a shift rota basis along with colleagues providing 24 hours coverage 7 days a week. We run a 10-week rota w.the shifts vary but cover an equal split of early, late and night shifts. You’ll also get around 50% of weekends as planned rest days. T.is a 20% shift allowance on top of the base salary to accommodate this.
This is a permanent role with a salary of **£23,991 - £28,065** per annum depending on experience, plus 20% shift allowance.
