General Administrator/receptionist

We're currently supporting a global Engineering and Defence company to appoint General Admin/ Receptionist who will be responsible for a range of administration activities including reception and general office support. This is a 3-month contract (initially)paying £12.82 per hour. You will be required to work onsite from London's office (Wigmore Street).
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday between 7am and 6.30 pm on a weekly rota basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completing administration for the FM team reporting into the local FM Supervisor
- Assist general administration support for the office during busy periods.
- Greet external visitors and ensure they are directed to the appropriate person in an efficient manner.
- Cover any illness and leave on reception as necessary.
- Welcome Babcock and Cavendish staff into the building and carry out security checks on new starters, staff visiting from other offices.
- Answer telephones and direct callers to the appropriate person as well as taking messages when appropriate and providing callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website and other relatedinformation.
- Receive, sort and forward incoming mail, general deliveries and collection of IT for staff and new starters. Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
- Maintain the conference rooms ensuring they reflect the Company's professional image and key Company messages posted in the room are kept up to date.
- Any other ad-hoc Admin and Reception Tasks as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with hours to be staggered to ensure reception cover is maintained throughout normal office hours.
Travel No travel is expected for this position.
Education / Experience Requirements
- Qualified to GCSE level in English and / or NVQ Level 2 in Administration
- Demonstrable experience in a reception / administration role.
