We have an opportunity for a **Commercial Lead** to join our property teams at Sovereign. We're going through an exciting period of change and transformation at Sovereign, with our corporate plan setting out some ambitious goals for the business.

Based from either our head office in **Basingstoke, Newbury **or** Dorset locations,** you'll combine a mix of home and office working to ensure a positive work / life balance.

**The Role**

Working closely with project delivery teams and Locality Managers, the purpose of this role is to ensure our property maintenance services and projects are delivered to budget whilst complying with our standards and legislation.

You will lead on finances and bills of quantity for Repairs & Maintenance, planned investments and specialist complex projects to deliver a customer centric, high quality, value for money, building and compliance projects service. The delivery will be through a mixture of an inhouse workforce and sub-contractors and main contractors and may also use external consultants to assist delivery.

This opportunity will include managing the financial and contractual arrangements with internal and external contractors, suppliers, and consultants across diverse construction activities. These activities include responsive repairs, cyclical maintenance, voids, compliance, and planned investment projects.

**What we need from you**:

- Proven experience within a Commercial Management role, providing financial management and reporting for significant budgets.
- Knowledge and experience in the procurement and commercial delivery of construction contracts within the public sector/private sector
- Experience in the commercial management of property related contracts
- Good understanding and management of risk, financial planning, modelling
- Strong knowledge of building legislation and maintenance management best practice
- Ability to plan, track and forecast income and expenditure against relevant budgets, to deliver a value for money service whilst taking actions to mitigate any risks to Sovereign.
- Strategic thinking, commercial acumen and values driven behaviours to support us in fulfilling our ambitious corporate plan and customer and home and place strategies at both a Locality and ‘Sovereign wide' level.
