Job Description Are you a dynamic development leader with the vision and drive to deliver large-scale growth across African markets? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation for an experienced Development Manager to spearhead the delivery of annual new unit build targets across multiple African territories. This pivotal role requires a strategic, influential, and commercially astute individual who can lead franchise partners, manage a strong team, and ensure seamless execution of development projects from concept to completion. Acting as the primary driver of the development pipeline, the successful candidate will optimise processes, strengthen strategic plans, and ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget, contributing directly to the organisation’s growth ambitions. Key Duties Lead and execute the franchise new unit, relocation, and remodel opening plan. Shape and implement long-term franchise development strategies across African markets. Identify, evaluate, and secure optimal sites for development. Evolve development infrastructure and continuously improve the business model. Influence franchise partners and guide project delivery to ensure deadlines and standards are met. Provide project leadership, updates, and insights to senior stakeholders and investment committees. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Property, or the Built Environment; MBA advantageous. Minimum 10–12 years’ relevant development experience, ideally within QSR, retail development, or related franchise environments. Strong commercial acumen and proven success in franchise development. Africa market experience highly advantageous. Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to drive project outcomes. Strong leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams. Ability to manage complex, multi-market pipelines and ensure on-time delivery.
