**BMI Beardwood Hospital** and **BMI Lancaster Hospital** are **part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.**
**We have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Environmental Lead to join either of the above hospitals depending on your location.**
**This is a Part time role for 22.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.**
**As of the 1st April it will be a legal requirement for all our patient facing staff to have been double vaccinated unless they can show that they are officially exempt. We regret that we therefore cannot appoint you to this role unless you are currently vaccinated or are happy to be double vaccinated by this date or exempt.**
**Applicants should meet the following criteria**:

- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
Fire safety skills
Ability to interpret relevant health and safety legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and guidance and to advice managers on a range of health and safety matters.
Risk Assessor experience
RCA / Incident investigation skill
Contractor Management skills
Experience undertaking audits
Good IT skills
Knowledge of Environmental legislation and standards
**Duties of this role include**:

- To advise and assist the Senior Management Teams (SMT), interpret and meet obligations under applicable Health & Safety Acts, regulations and guidance.
To support and advice the SMT on promoting a strong health and safety culture throughout the Hospitals.
To support the facility in demonstrating an appropriate level of compliance with relevant health and safety standards to our regulators i.e., the CQC, HSE, EA, local government agents and interested parties.
To manage environmental risk effectively across the site ensuring compliance with all related legislation and CHG policy
To champion environmental management, continually improving performance
