The €2.3 bn turnover p.a. Sofidel Group, is a leading manufacturer of paper for hygienic and domestic use worldwide, operating in 13 countries, with more than 6900 employees. Sofidel offers a range of tissue products to consumers with market leading brands such as Regina and Nicky, and the 'Away from Home' sectors supplying to Restaurants, Hospitals, Offices etc. The business has 4 Paper Mill and Converting production sites in the UK.

This is an exceptional opportunity for Health and Safety Officer to join Sofidel, based at the company's paper mill in Lancaster, with a brief to assist in driving a behavioural Health and Safety culture across the site, whilst improving performance. The site is ISO9001, IOS45001, ISO14001 and ISO5001 accredited, employing c60 people.

Reporting to the HR and Finance Director, with a dotted line into the Plant Manager, you will take a practical hands-on approach, with a remit including working with the senior team on the continual development of a behavioural based Health and Safety culture. You will ensure consistency and standardisation of Health and Safety to exceed customer and legislative demands, promoting best practice policies and processes.

The successful candidate must be a proven Health and Safety professional with experience gained in a demanding manufacturing environment. You will be robust and resilient and able to demonstrate well developed communication skills and an ability to lead and develop a progressive Health and Safety culture in a dynamic and demanding environment. You will have or be working towards NEBOSH qualifications.
