We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Radiotherapy family as a Patient Access Coordinator.
Please note working from home is not an option as we are highly operational and part of a patient facing team.
The Patient Access Co-ordinator will be the first point of contact for patients and service users providing an in depth knowledge of radiotherapy scheduling procedures.
The Patient Access Co-ordinator will liaise closely with the clinical team and speciality management teams to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate appointments according to their care pathway.
The post holder will be required to rotate within the team, providing reception cover, scheduling functions, general administrative support and telephone cover for patients needing to access the radiotherapy services. This will ensure that at every contact with the Trust patients are able to speak to staff who understand their scheduling needs and that clinical teams are always supported by knowledgeable administrative staff.
The service operates Monday to Friday between the core hours 08:00 - 20:00 with some weekend and bank holidays working depending on service need.

The Radiotherapy Service serves a catchment population of approximately 1.6 million and is the provider of radiotherapy for the six London boroughs - Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. The service also receives national referrals from St John’s Skin Clinic based here at GSTFT, and works in closest collaboration with colleagues at King’s College NHS Foundation Trust, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
The role requires the ability to liaise with all disciplines of staff i.e. Directorate Managers, Consultants, Nurses and administrative colleagues, work well as part of a team, be professional and personable at all times.
The post holder must be IT literate and have the ability to navigate trust IT systems and should have some understanding of National cancer waiting targets.
