IBK are working with a family to help them recruit a sociable and friendly PA to join their team and support their daughter who is in her 20's with additional needs. The role involves picking up their daughter from her college in Eckington and escorting her home in the car. Then spending some time with the young lady in the family home dancing and singing to ABBA. Additionally, having a chat with a cup of tea and doing some dressing up. The young lady is described as a pleasure to be around
This young lady has some additional needs but communicates verbally well as you get to know her. She has had some serious health issues in the past and is now clinically very vulnerable so the family still have lots of measures in place to protect the young lady from COVID 19 and other illnesses.
**Essential criteria**:
- Experience of working within the Health and Social Care or the Education sector supporting young people
- Ability to learn from the family and existing PA’s
- Willing to invest in getting to know this young person well and commit to providing the best support
- Be friendly, reliable, and honest; and maintain confidentiality.
- Be respectful in the family-home.
- Be creative and confident with a fun and professional approach
- A good sense of humour
- Have a genuine desire to enhance the life of this young person
A driver with use of a car and a clean license
**Desirable criteria**:
- Have ideas about things that the young person may enjoy and bring your own interests to the team
**Hours**:
To collect the young lady from college at 3.30pm on Thursdays plus a Monday and/or Friday if possible.
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: £9.50 per hour
COVID-19 considerations:
Interviews take place remotely
Family still have covid measures in place to protect everyone.
**Experience**:
- support work/care work/PA work: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
