Head of Central Supply Operations

About the role
- This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

- This role is based at one of our sites in Newcastle or the Midlands (Derby/Kettering): However there will be a need to travel regularly across the UK to visit all our manufacturing and logistics sites.

What you'll do
- Lead our Operational Efficiency team across manufacturing, logistics, and transport functions
- Develop team succession plans and deploy labour utilisation tools across sites
- Introduce control systems and a Greggs Operating System to improve supply chain performance
- Lead and coordinate central Supply Planning Team activities aligned with strategic and operational goals
- Influence senior stakeholders to ensure site teams have the right resources to meet customer demand
- Ensure Commercial Team is aligned and working towards shared objectives
- Use data and BI insights to identify site improvements and lead automation studies
- Promote a culture of customer focus, achievement, and accountability across planning and efficiency teams
- Oversee resource planning to maximise value and support wider business initiatives
- Ensure labour deployment meets statutory requirements and reflects best practice
- Lead budget planning and identify cost-saving opportunities across the supply chain
- Communicate progress and initiatives clearly across sites and leadership teams
- Collaborate with systems and communications managers to ensure tools and messages drive engagement and efficiency

About you
We are looking for highly experienced, talented individuals with drive, who can demonstrate:

- Proven senior management experience in an operational efficiency/workforce planning role.
- A proven track record of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction within a central supply chain function.
- Experience of managing and delivering a significant budgetary responsibility
- The ability to think about the wider picture and make sound decisions.
- Experience of working with and influencing senior management.
- Experience of developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic planning.
- Extensive vocational experience
- Strong systems knowledge and capability
