**About The Role**

**_ The role:_**

As part of the Billing team responsible for invoicing company revenues of c£90m, you will report to the Senior Billing Lead, proactively supporting the team and our customers (with specific reference to Meter Reading, Billing and Credit Control). This role will involve ensuring customers are billed accurately and in a timely manner, dealing with their queries and requirements. The placement student will join at an exciting transitional phase as firmus energy migrates to a new Customer Billing platform.

**_ Key Accountabilities:_**
- Addressing customer, contractor and staff queries, liaising with customers where necessary
- Demonstrating first class customer care delivered in line with company brand values
- Customer Account Administration and support activities across the team including billing, meter reading and credit control activities
- Assist with meter read schedule preparation including booking customer meter inspection appointments
- Process meter readings accurately on the billing system and in line with KPIs, contacting customers to investigate read anomalies.
- Ensure domestic and commercial customers are billed accurately, in a timely manner and in line with the Codes of Practice and applicable licence requirements
- Support the team in change projects as it transitions from the existing to the new Billing platform (Data Integrity, Data cleansing, User Acceptance Training, Training and implementation support)
- Undertake any additional duties as directed by the Billing Manager.

**_ The Individual:_**

The post holder will demonstrate first class communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and sustain good relationships across all departments. They will have excellent IT skills.

**_ Essential:_**
- Undergraduate currently studying for a degree in a business or finance related discipline
- Excellent IT skills with experience in manipulating data on MS Excel
- Strong written communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to develop relationships
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to work on own initiative and to prioritise workload

**_Desirable:_**
- Previous experience in customer facing role
- Previous administration experience

**Required Criteria**
- Undergraduate currently studying for a degree in a business or finance related discipline
- Excellent IT skills with experience in manipulating data on MS Excel
- Strong written communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to develop relationships
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to work on own initiative and to prioritise workload
