An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Prevention Team for a Community Outreach Team Leader.
Working under the leadership of the Community Education Coordinator, you will manage a team of Prevention Officers and Prevention Practitioners, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and support to perform at their best. You will oversee performance, capacity, and day-to-day operations, making sure our interventions help people reduce their fire risk and improve their overall health, safety, and wellbeing.
This is a key leadership role, and we are looking for a confident and motivated individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will be instrumental in supporting and developing your team, enabling them to deliver high-quality services to the communities we serve.
This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of new systems and processes that will shape the future of our prevention work. You may also be required to deputise for the Community Education Coordinator in their absence.
A driving licence would be advantageous.
**Responsibilities**:
- In this role, you will:
- lead and manage the daily work of the Prevention Officers and Prevention Practitioners in your team
- work in a variety of settings outside WMFS, including one-to-one support for individuals
- manage a defined caseload, ensuring effective support for those with multiple and complex needs
- build and maintain relationships with professionals who have shared responsibility for the health and support needs of adults, children, and young people
- undertake any required training to develop your skills and meet role requirements
- design and review processes to ensure the efficient running of the team
- oversee team capacity, capability, performance, attendance, and administration.
Experience and skills Essential skills or experience
- a qualification in a relevant discipline and/or extensive relevant experience in a similar role
- excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- experience in managing staff and resources, ensuring effective service delivery
- proven experience relevant to the role, particularly in community engagement and support
- understanding of health inequalities and the behavioural, lifestyle, and environmental factors that increase vulnerability to fire.
Desirable skills or experience
- a qualification in Health and Social Care or an equivalent relevant qualification
- experience in community safety and/or health and wellbeing
- an understanding of the National Curriculum, Local Education Authorities, and Academy networks
- experience of working with both young people and adults in a support or education setting
- proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Teams, Word, and Excel.
