**The Opportunity**:
Nigel Wright Recruitment has been retained by Royal IHC to lead a UK wide search for a high-calibre business development manager, to drive its ambitious growth plans, within the offshore energy sector.The role can be home based with periodic travel to theUK headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne.
**About Royal IHC**
Royal IHC Limited is a subsidiary of Dutch-based company Royal IHC. Based in the north-east of England, Royal IHC Limited designs, manufactures and supplies bespoke offshore systems, including pipe and cable lay equipment, subsea trenching equipment and completeturnkey, integrated ship systems. It offers a full design and build solution, which encompasses concept development and product delivery, through to life-cycle support, including rental assets.
**Role Profile**:
- Conducting targeted business development activities to identify and develop new opportunities.
- Working with the UK General Manager in setting the sales strategy
- Maximising revenue streams with the existing client base, through consultative client management
- Developing, progressing and managing the sales pipeline.
- Providing guidance to the Technical Sales Team and Product Leads in relation to proposals, bids and tenders.
- Acting as a senior individual within the UK business and offering advice, guidance and leadership throughout the commercial function.
- Reporting accurate forecasts and pipeline updates, upline to the leadership team.
- Regularly attending relevant industry events and conferences
- Maintaining in depth and up to date knowledge of the Company’s product and service offering and the industry trends and demands across the Energy, Oil & Gas and Renewables sectors.
- Managing and driving continuous improvement of the proposals, bidding and tendering process.
- Full involvement with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the tendering process, with personal involvement in the resolution of any query / negotiation points on contractual arrangements.
- Contributing effectively to the contract risk management process.
- Ensuring appropriate legal compliance, financial assessment and overall due diligence is completed, prior to forming contractual agreements.
- Contributing to the creation of high-quality marketing collateral and plans to drive business and client base growth.
**Person Specification**:
- A strong track record of business development within the offshore, renewables, energy, or oil & gas markets.Applications would also be welcome from individuals from sectors with similar style sales cycles and processes e.g. nuclear / defence.
- Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills.
- Strong networking experience and comfortable in an environment of trade shows, exhibitions and general networking forums / events.
- A naturally engaging personality, with strong commercial / business acumen.
- The ability to evidence consistent winning of new work throughout commercial career.
- High levels of competence in overseeing bid management and tendering processes.
- Awareness of market trends and emerging technologies to enable contribution towards the Company’s future strategy and direction.
