**BACKGROUND**:
Redemptorist Publications (RP) is a Catholic publishing house with a committed outreach to all Christians. The Charity is owned by the London Province of the Redemptorist Congregation.
Since its beginnings in the 1950s, RP has developed a reputation for meeting the needs of parishes and parishioners alike with weekly sheets, catechetical resources and general Christian books. Our aim is to present faith in an attractive and approachable way and we do this is in a variety of publications for adults and children. Our style is upbeat, non-judgemental, popular and pastoral
**PURPOSE OF ROLE**:
To work with the Head of Editorial & Marketing to develop, schedule and deliver marketing plans which promote RP’s publications and products together with those we distribute on behalf of other publishers.
The role requires an enthusiastic and organised person who can work with all departments within the Charity and will also require liaison with authors, media, customers, printers and other external suppliers.
**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
2. To help with the production of all marketing materials, including Advance Information sheets, working closely with the Head of Department and the Head of Sales, Distribution & Customer Care.
3. To assist with market research and analysis activities to identify business development opportunities to achieve the strategic objectives of the Marketing Department.
4. To assist with the production of reports, brochures, advertisements, catalogues, flyers, and other promotional material.
5. To be able to develop suitable marketing plans for RP titles and products.
6. To be able to use and analyse RP’s CRM system to spot trends and initiate relevant marketing activities (training will be given).
7. To help ensure that product descriptions and images are correct and kept up-to-date on RP’s databases.
8. To assist the Sales teams prepare for exhibitions and occasionally attend events.
9. To liaise with other publishers for whom RP distributes regarding any marketing requirements.
10. Take responsibility for the mailing of Press Releases and complimentary/review copies of books and products with supporting documentation.
11. To work closely with the Head of Department to ensure RP maintains its excellent relationships with authors, partners, distributors and suppliers.

Knowledge, skills and experience might be evidenced through previous employment, voluntary work and/or through courses attended.

A willingness to attend training programmes as identified by the Head of Department to ensure appropriate skills are available within the team.
**4 **Knowledge**
An understanding of marketing and sales functions within a business.
An understanding of the reasons for an Equal Opportunities policy and how it affects the immediate working environment and our relationships with each other and our customers.
A knowledge of the Christian church is desirable but not essential.

Excellent organisation skills, including ability to plan and monitor one’s own workload to meet deadlines and to delegate work when required.
Excellent written English and the willingness to undertake a proof reading course.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent oral communications especially speaking on the telephone.
A flexible approach to work in order to achieve deadlines.
Highly developed motivational skills to support others to achieve objectives
Ability to use creative thinking and a flexible approach to pre-empt, identify issues and solve problems.
Ability to draft schedules, including monitoring and adjusting schedules when required.
Ability to work as part of a team and to lead teams when heading up projects.
A positive, professional ‘can do’ attitude without compromising on quality and attention to detail.
