An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior health care support worker, within the Adult Mental Health directorate, on Brook ward, which is a 20 bed ward, for males, based in Wolverhampton. The ward is supported by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, with a music room, kitchen, gym, art room, multi faith room, with great links with local charities, and housing services.
You will need to be a caring, compassionate individual who is committed to delivering quality care at all times. You must have good communication skills and the ability to work calmly in a busy demanding ward environment.
Under the leadership of registered nurses and the Ward manager you will be responsible for supporting and caring for patients to help meet their personal and clinical needs.

You must be reliable, flexible in attendance, able to work night and day shifts as required ,have a positive nature, and committed to providing a positive patient experience at all times throughout your working day.

Main duties of the job
You will be a professional member of the multi-disciplinary team and you will be a team player.
You will be flexible and adaptable.
You will be willing to receive further training to help you enhance your skills.
You will have a good understanding of NEWS2 and the correct route of escalation in reporting concerns.
You will be expected to use offer reassurance and support to patients who may be experiencing trauma or are in crisis.
You will treat patients with dignity and choice.
You will support the nurse in charge with running a smooth shift that maintains patient safety.
You will expected to monitor and audit ward cleanliness and complete environmental checks.
You will aid with therapeutic observations and escorting patients on leave from the ward.
