**Job Purpose**
The Doctoral Training Hub (DT Hub) manages multiple Centres for Doctoral Training (CDT) and other funded cohort postgraduate programmes across the College of Science and Engineering. The DT Hub provides an innovative student and academic focused service providing end-to-end management and administration. We offer a flexible hybrid working model.
The Doctoral Training Hub Coordinator will have an operational responsibility to deliver high quality and effective support for the CDT. The role includes responsibility for the delivery and enhancement of the overall student recruitment strategy, cohort development, organising innovative training programmes, budget management, support for obtaining additional external funding and management reporting to the Director(s) and funding bodies.
The successful applicant will work in parallel with other coordinators within the Doctoral Training Hub and will be required to provide relief cover to other CDTs supported by the Doctoral Training Hub as and when appropriate.
Reports to:

CoSE Doctoral Training Hub Manager, with guidance on specific CDT objectives from the CDT Directors.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Providing specialist advice and support to the CDT Directors and Management Team.
2. Working as part of a cross-functional team to support the ambitious delivery, management, and administration of specific CDTs.
3. Driving an ethos of continuous improvement.
4. Reviewing and reporting potential risks, lessons learnt and making recommendations to the DT Hub Manager.
5. Working to support activities associated with enhancing the diversity of the student body and ensuring the CDT delivers against ambitious equality, diversity and inclusion plans.
6. Developing the student recruitment strategy to ensure the target number of students is recruited each year and ensuring that the strategy is inclusive and aligns with best practice in EDI.
7. Member of specific CDT management committees, communicating and coordinating activities between committees and the CDT Directors.
8. Providing specialist advice and support for student and staff queries relating to the CDT.
9. Facilitating student registration processes (including liaising with other HEIs where necessary) for specific CDTs, including relating to the annual student progression process.

**Strategic Planning**
1. To plan and deliver effective operational support for management and administration, with appropriate links established to ensure the successful flow of information and strong relationships with students, internal departments and Colleges, HEI, and industry partners.
2. To plan and manage fund-raising bids to leverage the core funding with match-funding from industry, public sector, and other organisations.
3. To establish and deliver the centre-specific communications strategy in agreement with the Centre Director. This could include newsletters, webpage, social media, events etc.
4. Maintain a strategic overview of the calendar of events for specific CDTs and / or other funded cohort postgraduate programmes.
5. To plan and organise specific research and skills training activities and ensure that all elements of each programme are completed as necessary.

**Student Experience**
1. Working with the CDT Directors to plan, promote and facilitate appropriate schemes and programmes such as student internships, industry placements and international placements etc.
2. Working with the DT Hub Manager and Deputy to deliver the plans for exceptional student experiences within specific CDTs including supporting student-led activities such as conferences, mentoring groups etc.
3. Support and develop a strong multi-disciplinary community both within and across cohorts and centres.
4. To support the administrators with student pastoral care enquiries.
5. Working with relevant services to plan and coordinate the delivery of all induction related activities.

**Marketing & Communications**
1. Creating and supporting the delivery of a marketing strategy.
2. Devising and supporting any CDT or student-led events or other cohort-related activities.
3. Providing regular reports to CDT Directors, Management Teams, College Management, and funders, as appropriate, and representing the CDTs and other cohort-based groups at events.
4. Reviewing the use of social media for cohort-building and recruitment purposes and contribute to the social media strategy.

**Financial Management**
1. Working with the DT Hub Managers, College Finance, and the Research Operations Manager, organise and manage the financial and business processes to ensure that specific CDT deliver on their forecasted budgets and key performance indicators.
2. Monitoring and managing the allocation and spending of budgets relating to specific CDTs and Doctoral Centres.
