London, United Kingdom Heineken Full time

**Head of Corporate Affairs - Star Pubs & Bars**

**Salary: £80,000 - £100,000** base, depending on experience. Plus 15% benefits allowance (can be taken as cash).

Bonus and flexible benefits available, including:

- Company-funded private medical healthcare
- Double-matched pension (up to 10% of base pay)
- 35 days’ holiday (plus the option to buy and sell)
- Comprehensive opportunities to develop via our learning platform and courses
- A monthly case of our delicious ciders and beers

**Function**: Corporate Affairs

**Location**: London (Oxford Circus), with a mix of office and home working

**Contract**: Permanent

As the UK’s leading pub, cider and beer business, we’re home to some of the world’s best-loved ciders and beers, and a leading player in the international drinks industry. But there’s so much more to HEINEKEN than meets the eye.

Right now, we’re looking for a Head of Corporate Affairs to join our Star Pubs & Bars and Corporate Affairs leadership teams

**About the role**

Star Pubs & Bars (Star) is the third largest pub business in the UK operating across both Managed and Leased & Tenanted pubs. HEINEKEN & Star operate in a highly regulated environment where alcohol, alcohol policy, and pubs continue to attract high levels of political and media interest. The Head of Corporate Affairs will deliver our ambition to create a positive condition for business growth by driving a positive perception of pubs in the UK, advocating the leased & tenanted model and supporting HEINEKEN’s investments in pubs.

You’ll create and deliver an integrated corporate affairs strategy that both builds and protects the reputation of Star as a leading UK pub company and creating a broad range of advocates both in and out of the trade, including a supporting network of licensees. This includes delivering colleague engagement initiatives, first-class licensee communications, public affairs engagement plan, media relations and PR.

The Head of Corporate Affairs is a critical member of our Star and Corporate Affairs Leadership Teams, and you’ll be seen as the main point of contact and a spokesperson for Star. You’ll also have line management responsibility for the Corporate Affairs Manager, so you’ll provide support, guidance and development where required.

**Who we’re looking for**

We believe pubs are the heart of our communities and a key part of British culture, so we’re looking for someone who genuinely shares our passion. We need a leader who can drive engagement across multiple stakeholder groups and galvanise cross industry collaboration to achieve our ambitions. If you have;
- Extensive proven experience in public affairs, understanding Government processes and how to influence.
- Experience in planning, designing and delivering communication programmes to support complex and large-scale businesses and business change.
- Up to date knowledge of employee communications, social media channels and engagement
- Confidence and experience working with senior leaders and multiple different business functions.
- Strong communication skills, excellent at writing and storytelling

Then this could be the role for you

We embrace learning and growth, and there is plenty of scope to develop in this role, as a Corporate Affairs practitioner and a leader within HEINEKEN.

As this role is office/site based, please note we currently operate a hybrid working framework which allows us to capture the benefits of both working in the office and at home. For full time roles, we work a minimum of 3 days in the office, a Tuesday and Thursday are for all, with the third day being defined by the colleague.

**Life at HEINEKEN**

We’re building a future that embraces innovation, sustainability, diversity and, of course, the opportunity for our UK colleagues to make the most of their careers.

We encourage all our colleagues to grow and reach their full potential. We’re also well-aware that successful careers seldom run in a straight line, so if you’re in search of fresh opportunities (including global or cross-functional moves), mentoring or simply want to pick up a new skill, you’ll have access to all the support you need.

Caring for people & the planet is one of our core values and we understand that each of our colleagues’ needs, and circumstances are different. This is why we have a smarter working policy in place which includes access to hybrid working, flexible start and finish times and condensed hours, to name a few.

Our colleagues love life at HEINEKEN, and we’re confident you’ll feel the same way - but don’t take our word for it. Search the #LifeAtHEINEKENUK hashtag on LinkedIn to hear from our colleagues about what makes HEINEKEN such a special business to be a part of.
