**Job Title**: Head of Corporate Affairs

**Location**: East London

**Day Rate**:£345.70

**Duration**:3 months

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing highly specialised advice to the Board of Directors, Council of Governors, and all staff on corporate governance matters, assessing and recommending courses of action involving complex, specialised governance issues.
- Preparing and submitting the Annual Report in line with legislation, using communication and negotiation to seek and collate information from a wide range of teams and sources, and drafting content as required.
- Managing, monitoring and updating the Board Assurance Framework (BAF) and related risk management, analysing performance in relation to targets and objectives, and communicating complex information regarding risk management to the Board of Directors and its sub-committees
- Producing and circulating accurate minutes and action logs in respect of meetings of the Board of Directors and Remuneration Committee.
- Co-ordinating arrangements for the evaluation of the effectiveness of the Board of Directors and producing an action plan to inform the Board Development Programme.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining a policy relating to conflicts of interest and gifts and hospitality.
- Ensuring that policy and practice are commensurate with best practice nationally.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining a policy relating to conflicts of interest and gifts and hospitality.
- Formulating, implementing and reviewing a long-term Membership Strategy.
- Monitoring performance against strategic goals, utilising research and audit skills to measure and report.
- Negotiating with and motivating individuals within the team to achieve on project delivery.
- Attending membership events as required, including the Annual General Meeting.
- Planning and organising a complex range of activities across the Corporate Affairs Team, formulating and adjusting plans and strategies as required to meet Trust and service needs.
- Managing the Corporate Affairs and Trust Board budgets and authorising expenditure up to delegated limits for a Head of Service.

**Essential Skills**:

- Experience of operating at Board level
- Experience of communicating with and persuading a variety of stakeholders to plan, manage and collaborate across different organisations
