**Café Support Worker**

Full-time position (40 hours pw)

Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm (including some Saturdays on a rota basis)

£22,734 to £23,193 (Depending on experience)

We are looking for a friendly, adaptable, committed and experienced member of staff to join our Country Park Team at The Lodge Trust.

**Duties include -**
- Working as a member of the Country Park Creative Enterprise Service to support residents and service users in the training, development and maintenance of catering skills and knowledge.
- To assist in the provision of high quality, nutritious and diet appropriate meals for residents and service users.
- To provide high quality food for café users/members of the public

There will be an element of flexibility required for this post, including cover for holidays and other absences.

**Service Aims **The Lodge Trust aims to provide services for adults with learning disabilities which promote Christian virtues and values. The Country Café is part of The Lodge Trust and is a project of the charity, offering support and training to our Service Users. We encourage them to develop new skills and gain confidence working with the public, whilst maintaining a high-quality customer service.

**Role**
- To work with the Café Coordinator, and members of the Café team to provide meals during the working week for residents.
- To be able to support residents to develop their catering skills and in the safe preparation of food for service for members of the public.
- To adhere to cash handling and cashing up procedures.
- To provide a responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
- To maintain kitchens and work areas to a high standard.
- To comply with all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene requirements as applicable to a catering establishment.
- To comply with care standards for adults with learning disabilities.
- To support residents whilst they work in the café.
- To support residents in outings and other activities.
- To support the events and developments of the organisation.
- To adhere to all Lodge trust policies and procedures.
- To work alongside all departments of the Creative Enterprises Team

**Responsibilities and Duties**

**Service Users**:

- To work alongside the Café Coordinator and Kitchen Team Leader to support a team of people with learning disabilities to develop and maintain specialist skills.
- To act as Link Worker for a number of service users.
- To input into individual care plans and relevant documents.
- To ensure service users are able to take an active part in work activities.
- To assist individuals, as appropriate, with personal hygiene, visits to the toilets and other tasks when required.
- To ensure a safe and secure environment for the Service Users and to take appropriate action in the event of an emergency.
- To work as direct by Café Coordinator and Kitchen team leader to support residents in the safe preparation of food for service and resident meals.

**Staff**:

- To work as a member of the Creative Enterprise Services team in support of the service users and delivery of an overall service.
- To liaise with the other members of the Café team to ensure mutual support is provided and combined skills are used for the benefit of the products and services provided.
- As appropriate, and in association with the Manager, to seek external advice.

**Work area**:

- To provide a high standard of front of house customer service.
- To create high quality meals for resident and food products for sale.
- To ensure the work areas and store areas are kept clean, tidy and meet all legislation requirement applicable to the work area.
- To ensure that equipment and facilities are adequate and well maintained and any concerns are reported in line with lodge trust processes.

**Health and Safety**:

- To understand requirements of Health and Safety and support in the implementation of all aspects of the Health and Safety Policy as applicable to work area.
- To be familiar with all accident, emergency, fire and procedures.
- To ensure a safe working environment at all times.
- To complete daily, weekly, regular checks as required for work area as directed by Café coordinator.
- To maintain necessary Health and Safety records.
- To record and report any Health and Safety concerns in a timely manner.
- To attend all training required for role.

**Administration**:

- To record accurately and efficiently any necessary information on our Care Management System.
- To attend relevant meetings.
