**The main purpose of the role is to assist, generally as part of a team, in delivering highway maintenance and construction works.**

**The Role**

***
- **Manage and direct a small highway maintenance team.**:

- **Carry out and take responsibility for a variety of skilled tasks including carriageway, footway, drainage maintenance,**

**soft estate maintenance works (e.g. grass cutting, strimming etc) and minor civils works (e.g. setting out, paving, kerb**
**installation, signage works etc.)**
- **Receive daily briefings and understand risks and control measures required for the task to communicate to other**

**members of the team.**
- **Complete daily record sheets and associated documents; including, site specific risk assessments assessing the safe**

**systems of work.**
- **Report health, safety, environmental and quality concerns, near misses and suggestions.**:

- **Participate in out-of-hours winter maintenance and emergency response activities on a rota basis.**

**About You**

***
- **Highway’s maintenance experience.**:

- **A current, valid driving licence is essential, with LGV class 2 as desirable.**:

- **A good understanding of health and safety and its impact on the workplace.**:

- **Demands and delivers high standards, has a passion for customer service that directs the team to achieve the desired**

**outcome and challenges poor service delivery.**
- **Good communication and interpersonal skills.**
