Hertfordshire County Council Services for Young People is the primary provider of youth work; information, advice and careers guidance; work related learning and work experience for young people in Hertfordshire. The Service is a key contributor to the preventionand early intervention / early help agenda including Hertfordshire County Council’s aim of supporting young people to make a successful transition to an economically independent adult life.

We are seeking an Online Services Manager to continue improving and increasing our communication with young people, parents / carers and other stakeholders, through effective marketing and promotion. This is an interesting, varied and busy role within aService that has a targeted remit to help enable young people to succeed.

The role is responsible for leading on all aspects of our online traded and communication work, including performance management of the team’s workstreams.

You will have excellent practical knowledge of how web and social media technology can be used to produce relevant and useful content for a wide range of people and in a range of different styles. You will understand how effective marketing can be used toincrease revenue through sales of our traded products, having an awareness of the market and drivers for promotional activity.

The post holder will be an ideas person able to work within corporate, team and political boundaries, but not afraid to innovate. You will have experience of creating effective campaigns through great content and copy, using a variety of methods includingpublicity materials, newsletters, press releases, video scripts, blogs etc. You must be willing and able to enable change and streamline processes where possible, collaborating with other teams to do so.

In order to ensure that all of our communities are reached and included, knowledge of accessibility and implementation of current law and guidance is a must.

Networking skills and relationship building are important, as you will keep internal and external stakeholders engaged, devising methods for their feedback. You will need to be good at managing and co-ordinating task and finish projects, ensuring that othersare kept to task along the way.

You will be well organised, able to work to tight deadlines, while informing key performance indicators and measures of success against the team’s targets. You will have experience of managing, training and developing staff. This role currently manages twoofficers.
