**JOB PURPOSE**
To provide practical and technical help, support and consultancy services to University staff in their use of Technology Enhanced Learning. This includes supporting the creation of learning materials and resources. This is a fixed term post.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
1. Answering and managing queries from users through the helpdesk and other routes, resolving standard requests, investigating incidents and resolving or referring on where required, within agreed timeframes and to quality standards. Providing a consultancy service for the use of core Technology Enhanced Learning tools.
2. Assisting in the production of learning materials and resources, making use of standard tools, including: presentations (e.g. PowerPoint); image editing and manipulation; video production and editing; converting ideas and existing materials into resources within the VLE and elsewhere.
3. Advising and encouraging the use of available platforms such as Moodle VLE, Mahara MyPortfolio, assessment tools, lecture capture, video streaming and other tools. Supporting individuals and departments to select the appropriate tool for their needs and provide initial set-up advice, training and support.
4. Creating and maintaining support materials in a variety of media (including online documentation and video).
5. Developing an understanding of the management of content within the VLE, including the movement of content from one space to another, online assessment, the lecture capture system and other tools and other activity as necessary in order to support the use of the suite of tools that support teaching and learning.
6. An understanding of ePorfolios and the creation of content in tools such as Mahara.
7. Supporting online sessions and troubleshooting any issues users have.
8. Acquiring new skills and tools and being ready to adapt as needs and priorities change during the different phases of initiation, growth and maintenance of projects and services.
9. Liaising with members of the Flexible an Online Learning Division, Information and Digital Group, academic departments and other teams as appropriate.
10. Other duties as directed by line manager.
