Serco Skills provides vocational training to external customers and learners, funded either through the Adult Education (AEB) Budget, the apprenticeship levy or commercially.

As Skills Coach you will guide and support learners through every stage of their journey. You will liaise closely with Serco Skills’ delivery, contracts and quality teams, and supply chain partners delivering training in partnership with Serco Skills. As Skills Coach you will contact and provide support for adults that are both in employment and unemployed. As Skills Coach you will engage with learners to understand their requirements for skills and training, and to support their move into sustainable employment or career progression, as varying levels of support maybe required. Training may be delivered by in-house delivery teams, or in partnership with third party training providers.

You will provide end-to-end support for the learner throughout their journey, from initial advice and guidance (IAG), onboarding, wrap around care and support with progression. The role combines elements of pastoral support with coaching to achieve their aims.

What you’ll need to do the role

You will be L3 IAG qualified, commitment to personal development and have exceptional coaching techniques to motivate learners who may be disengaged.
You will need to be performance focused with a desire to deliver an excellent customer service and showcase strong administration skills with the ability to record information accurately and demonstrate attention to detail.
You will need the ability to communicate both verbally and written, including patience and empathy.

The role also requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
