The post holder will provide a high quality and effective recruitment service and temporary staffing service recruiting bank and agency temporary workers cost effectively to support workforce supply across the organisation. They will be responsible for ensuring that we recruit temporary staff safely in line with the NHS Employment Check standards.
Providing professional advice and support to managers and staff across the Trust on employment issues ensuring that advice is consistent with organisational policies, current employment legislation and good employment practice. Working with the HR Services Manager, the post holder will assist to enhance the recruitment process to ensure it is as effective and efficient as possible.
The post holder will be the first point of contact for the Trust and will therefore be expected to maintain high standards of courtesy, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
The post holder will be responsible for using and updating several HR technology platforms, such as Bank staff, Health Roster, ESR, Retinue, Me App and TRAC to ensure information is accurate and available for effective workforce planning and reporting.

Customer Service
- Provide support to the helpline and reception service participating as required providing an efficient customer service by answering calls and queries escalating where appropriate. Other duties could include: - Issuing ID badges
- Opening and distribution of post
- Greeting visitors to the department
- Provide support and advice to staff across the organisation and external agencies with temporary staffing requirements by responding to queries timely and escalating where appropriate often dealing with time sensitive cover.
- Have a detailed knowledge of the HR systems (Bank staff, Health Roster, ESR, Retinue, Me App) in order to provide first line support & training to operational users.
- Respond to customer queries and provide resolutions where possible and appropriate.
- Support the operational teams and offer advice to identify the most appropriate form of temporary staffing; ensuring quality and cost effectiveness are prioritised to ensure departments are safely staffed as defined by the operational teams.
- Develop & maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers and staff, ensuring excellent levels of customer service at all times.
- To actively seek feedback and identify opportunities to improve processes and systems.
- To support temporary staff across the Trust when they have queries relating to late or incorrect payments wherever possible resolving them and escalate any issues which require senior This requires high levels of tact and diplomacy to deal with staff who are distressed.
- Responsible for the booking & arranging of accommodation as required for temporary workers in the trust.
Recruitment Service
Provide an effective recruitment and selection service (excluding senior posts at Band 8 and above and all elements of medical staffing) ensuring compliance against the NHS employment check standards. Implement e-processes to improve efficiencies, timelines and quality and assist with the design.
Manage the recruitment timeline proactively to ensure that managers comply with our mandatory requirements. Promote and implement social media tools to enhance recruitment drives to provide flexibility and adaptability to our recruitment methods particularly for hard to fill roles. Work with specialties and departments to enhance and show case their areas as a great place to work.
Providing a recruitment service will involve supporting recruiting managers with the following:
- Planning their recruitment timelines to ensure that the process is timely managed from advertising ensuring that shortlisting can occur the day after the closing date and that interview dates are organised prior to an advertisement being released ensuring that interviews occur no later than 2 weeks after the closing date.
- Setting up vacancies on ESR ready for interface to TRAC Recruitment.
- Prepare, upload and activate vacancies onto TRAC Recruitment.
