Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Newcastle.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprenticeship Liaison Officer to join our Apprenticeships Department based primarily at our York campus but with a cross College remit. This role will be working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
The successful applicant will support employers in their understanding of Apprenticeships and their role in the overall process, with a view to generating apprenticeship learner starts.
They will facilitate the paperwork trail, ensuring effective audit compliance, and support the employer/learner journey from beginning to end.
The role will also involve tracking of learner’s progress in an on-going dialogue with their employer’s and the College delivery team(s).

The role of the ALO will be to build sustainable relationships with Employers which will focus on generating a pipeline of Apprenticeship roles and effectively recruiting against them.
The post-holder will have targets focussed upon facilitating new Apprenticeship business in specific Curriculum Areas which will mean it is necessary to work across all College Group sites.
The post-holder will support employers in their overall understanding of Apprenticeships, and their role in the process, with a view to generating apprenticeship/learner starts. They will facilitate the paperwork trail, ensuring effective audit compliance, and support the employer/learner journey from beginning to end. The role will also involve tracking of learner’s progress in an on-going dialogue with their employers and the academic delivery team.
Working with the Apprenticeship Manager, the role will include the development of new Apprenticeship Standards and improving, where required, existing apprenticeship programmes based upon learner and employer feedback.
The role will involve working with internal Curriculum Area Managers and academic staff, appropriate external agencies and stakeholders in order to ensure effective, high quality curriculum provision, development, delivery and quality assurance.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Promote Apprenticeship programmes with local employers
- Support employers with the recruitment of apprentices, this will include both newly recruited and existing employers.
- Co-ordinate the completion of all employer/learner sign up & enrolment documentation inclusive of: Apprenticeship Training Services Agreement; Training Plan; Health & Safety workplace check.
- Support Employers with the registration of their Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) account.
- Complete the induction review alongside Progress Assessor/Tutor, conduct 12 weekly progress reviews with learners & employers and independently conduct an end point review when on-programme learning elements input have been completed
- To monitor overall apprentice progress (via the Onefile e-portfolio portal), learner progress review documentation and satisfaction surveys, identifying instances of insufficient progress, at risk (on non-achievement) metrics, areas of non-compliance and levels of satisfaction.
- Keep up-to-date with current national benchmarks, monitor overall Apprenticeship performance (i.e. Apprenticeship Accountability Framework data) in ongoing consultation with the Apprenticeship Manager
- To support the development and implementation of new Apprenticeship standards in partnership with the Apprenticeship Manager and Curriculum teams.
- Negotiate appropriate entry points for starts throughout the academic year.
- To direct and provide support to the Curriculum teams on Apprenticeships overall inclusive delivery and audit compliance requirements.
- Work within the Colleges quality assurance framework
- Ensure that College and Curriculum Area Health and Safety policies are implemented, including termly Health and Safety checks, and advise and assist the College Health and Safety Manager/Officer as appropriate.
- Effectively manage and oversee all processes connected with the smooth registration for and co-ordination of all elements of the learner’s on programme learning, inclusive of the individual certificates of competence.
