Purchasing and Logistics Manager

**The Purchasing & Logistics Manager will be responsible for sourcing and procurement of products and services, logistics of receiving and shipping equipment and parts and the management of the warehouse and stock. There will be a requirement toadminister Health and Safety aspects of material handling and various environmental legislation's such as ISO14001. Main Responsibilities**:
- Purchasing Management
- Manage process of raising purchase orders for all Equipment, Parts and Service.
- Expedite purchase orders for stock and sales order items.
- Qualify and develop vendors to add value to the business.
- Negotiate savings where possible to improve profitability.
- Reporting and forecasting costs to management regularly.
- Strategic sourcing of new Suppliers and negotiating favourable terms.
- Logistics Management
- Managing team of Logistics Co-ordinators to sustain internal capacity and meet the revenue requirement of the business.
- Ensure proper recording of all material movements in ERP system.
- Provide import/export documentation including packing list, commercial invoice etc.
- Monitor and report against 'on time delivery' metric, identifying performance variances and improvements as required.
- Driving efficiency of existing processes and procedures and seek to maximise cost savings at all levels.
- Warehouse
- Manage current stock levels and re-order quantity and frequency to support the business.
- Record and report stock levels as required and carry out auditable stock count and account for any variances.
- Assess stock re-order requirements using all available information and forecast demand where necessary.
- Maintain part numbering system.
- HSEQ- Ensure manual handling procedures are carried out safely.
- Ensure compliance with current government directives
- Maintain safety records and ensure a safe injury-free working environment
**Qualities Required**:
- Motivational leader with high level of personal responsibility.
- Highly effective Time Management and Personal Organisation.
- Able to communicate fluently/effectively in English and possess good problem-solving skills.
- Power to engage employees and make the workplace more effective and efficient
- Excellent interpersonal skills; professional, experience of conflict management and strong powers of persuasion.
**Experience**:
- Understand cost management and profitability and manage accounts payable queries
- Supply chain management including adhering to contract terms
- Understand workflows and resource management
- Experience in warehouse operations management including stock management
- Knowledge of manual handling
- Knowledge of Sage or similar ERP system would be an advantage.
- Experience with Safety and Quality Systems essential.
**Education / Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Operations Management or business-related field
- Forklift license desirable, although not essential.
- Clean UK driving licence.
