**Purchasing Officer Responsibilities**:

- Purchase all goods and services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
- Ensure all purchases are carried out in compliance with Sasse’s procurement policy.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate with suppliers for improved prices, terms of business and review opportunities
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
- Undertake regular data maintenance activities, (e.g. supplier details, open purchase orders, correct pricing etc.)
- Manage and maintain product re-order levels by running and analysing sales reports to identify product on a weekly basis
- Monitor and engage in the supplies digital tools for internal and external communication
- Monitor price increases from suppliers and ensuring this communicated within the supplies team and updated within the companies WMS.
- Maintain and update all price support documentation for suppliers on a monthly basis in line with the supplier's deadline
- Request and obtain all invoices and statements for purchases made. Ensure that all invoices are processed into workflow for approval and finally submitted to the finance department for payment once all queries have been resolved.
- Undertake and maintain all department procedures in an accurate and accountable structure including but not limited to back ordering and month end procedures.
- When stock is counted by the warehouse, you are responsible to ensure that any queries are raised with the supplier on the same day.
- Regularly self-audit own procedures and complete random and ad-hoc stock takes to ensure accuracy & continuity

**Additional duties**:

- Conduct market research for purchase requests and actively engage in product, supplier and innovation research which benefits the business.
- Be an effective communicator ensuring timely & accurate information sharing with colleagues within the Sasse UK organisation
- Support the warehouse manager to ensure that the company maintains accurate product codes within:

- Digital ordering system
- Warehouse racking system
- Support the warehouse to undertake a full bi-annual stock take and report for auditing purposes
- Attend department?meetings?
- Shared reasonability for call handling, office mail organisation, meet and greet visitors?and customer enquiries?
- Cover staff sickness & holiday in the warehouse, office, and deliveries at the direction of the department managers
- Ad-hoc duties as directed by the immediate management team and head of department

**Purchasing Officer Requirements**:

- Experience in industry purchasing preferable
- Experience with negotiation and managing supplier agreements
- Experience in supply chain management
- Experience in and a highly functioning administrator
- Strong analytical skills
- Proactive approach to all aspects of work, especially problem solving and forward planning
- An experienced user of digital tools and systems for supply chain and logistics management
