Your main responsibilities will be to assess housing need and demand and develop affordable housing policy to guide both the Councils direct housing delivery programme and residential planning permissions. You will be required to research modern methods of construction, low-cost home ownership, custom and self-build, community led housing and urban regeneration to develop appropriate housing delivery mechanisms, to expand the housing offer in the borough in a difficult financial climate, whilst helping to reduce our carbon footprint.

With excellent customer service skills, you will also be required to liaise extensively with partners from Housing Associations and developers to Government Departments, estate agents and households seeking affordable housing. Educated to at least degree level, you will preferably have some experience of working in the field of housing, planning or regeneration. In return, we will provide training and support, and our innovative ways of working offers high levels of trust and autonomy to make decisions and manage your own workload.
