As a Barclays Employee Communications Manager, you will join our team supporting effective relationships with members of the Chief Operating Office (COO) Executive Committee and their leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable and agile-working team, where you’ll play a key role facilitating the execution of the communications strategies to achieve business and people objectives, and supporting the emerging priority communications across COO more broadly.

**What will you be doing?**:
- Supporting effective relationships with the relevant COO members and their leadership team
- Understanding the business strategy and priorities, and how these support the wider organisational ambitions
- Supporting the planning and end-to-end delivery of effective communications that clearly articulate the objectives of the business
- Assisting with the design and the implementation of a leadership communications plan, which includes engagement with the relevant audience
- Measuring the effectiveness of communications using available channels and tools, and recommending subsequent improvements
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to help create a highly effective team, fostering a positive working environment
- Playing an active role in sharing best practices and actively taking part in workshops and team-wide activities
- Providing a professional communications service to stakeholders, contributing with creative and fresh ideas and being prepared to provide alternative views
**What we’re looking for**:
- Previous experience in communications, with a track record of delivering to the highest standards and with a good attention to details
- Employee communications experience with excellent writing skills, and the ability to deliver complex messages in a clear and compelling way across a variety of channels
- Excellent planning and organisation skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise, as well as to focus on execution thinking creatively and solving problems
- Ability to use measurement and insights to inform planning on an iterative basis, using data and learnings to evolve communication effectiveness
**Skills that will help you in the role**:
- Academic qualification in communication or a related discipline would be ideal but not essential
- Good experience of communications content development, campaign design and channel management activity, with an understanding of M365 is desirable
- Good understanding of Barclays, showing awareness of technological innovation and disruption across the industry in which we operate
- Experience managing relevant risk, governance, compliance and control issues, with the ability to challenge, build credibility and work with integrity at all levels within an organisation
**Where will you be working?**
In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as: a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and it is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
