**Working Pattern: 37 hrs per week - Monday to Friday**
**Location: West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 6BJ (with travel around Nottinghamshire rights of way network required)**

**The Job**
We are looking for a Rights of Way Enforcement Officer to act as Via’s centre of expertise on the protection and assertion of the Rights of Way network, implementing the County Councils RoW enforcement policies and procedures to protect the network and increase compliance with RoW legislation
Key areas of responsibility for this role will include:
- Provide expert management of enforcement issues working with colleagues and client to protect the existing RoW network.
- Manage specific campaigns to proactively reduce future issues to achieve greater efficiency and public satisfaction
- Liaise with landowners to achieve resolution at an early stage of enforcement process to improve awareness and compliance of landowner responsibilities and obligations
- Manage implementation of enforcement works and recovery of costs to encourage compliance and safeguard the network
- Investigate, gather evidence, and prepare information to support formal enforcement process including representing the client in court should it be necessary and be an expert witness to successfully defend public rights.
- Monitor and analyse performance data to ensure effectiveness of enforcement activity
**The Person**
Mainly you will be excited to be a vital part of our Rights of Way team but there are a few things we would like from you:
- Proven experience of an enforcement role
- Ability to deal with and manage difficult and potentially volatile situations and people effectively and calmly
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small team
- Proven experience of working and negotiating with the people, landowners
- Full, valid UK driving licence
- Ability to undertake regular site visits in a lone working situation which may involve difficult, remote or uneven terrain
- Ability to prioritise time and organise own workload
- Ability to maintain computerised records
- Experience of managing works and contractors.
- Interest in the countryside and public access
- Ability to assimilate and analyse information, keep accurate records and write clear and concise reports
