A Rights of Way Officer is required to join a team of dedicated Countryside Access Officers, who are responsible for the management and recording of the County’s public rights of way network.

Based at West Bridgford, with flexible hybrid working, you will process requests for the diversion, extinguishment and creation of public rights of way. You will also support the Definitive Map Officers and assist with the making of Definitive Map Modification Orders (DMMOs).

Key duties include; processing Public Path Order requests, assist with DMMOs, prepare reports and present research findings at local public inquires and Council meetings, process Permissive Path Agreements, investigate map anomalies, assist with land searches, carry out research at County Archives and provide general support to the Countryside Access Team.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with an interest in Public Rights of Ways. You must have knowledge and an understanding of rights of way functions and good communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of understanding and working with maps is essential. The ability to effectively organise your time and workload is also required.

A full UK driving licence is essential. Lone working and site visits are part of the role sometimes involving difficult or uneven terrain. We have a flexible working hour’s scheme, generous annual leave and a contributory pension scheme.
