Based in either London or any of the firm's mainland European offices, this is a very exciting senior level role based within one of the biggest names in the legal world, providing strategic business development support designed to impact growth and ensureprofitable revenue across EMEA.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced business development professional to make a significant impact on the strategic development of the firm, leading the development of short and long term strategic plans which align with the broad goals ofthe firm by assessing present and future needs, market trends and risks and opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, UK, US & EMEA and EMEA Regional Managing Partner, the role holder will focus on broadening and deepening the firm'sclient relationships and identify and coordinate cross-selling opportunities with other practice areas. The successful applicant will lead an enthusiastic BD team, helping to fulfil strategic objectives and planning and implementing a range of initiativesdesigned to improve the generation of business from new and existing clients, enhance the firm's standing with major clients and prospects and build the profile of the firm in the market. It will be your responsibility to drive forward initiatives that youfeel would directly impact on the success of the business. This will involve liaising at the most senior levels of the partnership, to influence internal stakeholders, and will require a strategic handle allied to strong organisational and operational skills.The Head of Business Development will need to maintain and develop an in-depth insight into clients’ businesses to enable proactive identification of business opportunities and the delivery of outstanding client service and embrace a relentless client focus,providing strategic advice to partners to assist them to deliver client, sector and practice group strategies. The role holder will be responsible for setting the tone for all significant pursuits, tenders and proposals, positioning the value proposition basedupon a clear insight of client needs and industry trends.

Pre-requisites for this role include a strong academic background, most likely to MBA level, and proven strategic business development, sales and account relationship management experience gained in a global legal or professional services firm, to includemanaging a high performing team. Commercially astute, with a strong track record in growing existing and new business, the Head of Business Development will need to demonstrate past success in building strategic relationships, managing clients and pursuingnew business and a sound knowledge of customer relationship management principles and practices in a service delivery environment.
