Support Worker

We are looking for Support Workers to join the team supporting 16-25 complex young adults with MH/LD. Prior similar experience preferred and/or CQC regulations. Brief duties include;
- Provide practical support whilst on shift for all young adults
- Build and develop relationships with our young adults and encourage them to participate fully in the opportunities offered within the homes and external environments.
- Contributing to the support and independent living skills needs of young adults in co-operation with other team members. To follow and be aware of the Individual needs of the young person, their support plans and individual risk assessments.
- To record in the residents’s logs throughout your shift an actual factual account of the shift and the activities of the young people.
- To ensure that all other records are kept up to date including such as incident or accident reports and log book.
- Conduct key work sessions with residents and produce reports for each session.
- To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of each young adult and that safeguarding procedures are followed at all times and understand how to raise concerns.
- Support our residents with everyday tasks such as cooking and cleaning, appointments, meetings etc
- Build strong working relationships with external agencies such as Local Authorities and other Health/ Social Professionals.
- Have an understanding of, and to follow the required policies, processes and procedures; and ensure that they are being adhered to.
- To undertake a wide range of administrative tasks whilst on duty, including filing and typing within the Unit as delegated by Management and during handover.
- To ensure the security of the building and the safety and well-being of the young people.
- To promote and ensure that all residents are abiding by the rules of the home.
- To ensure that the environment of the home is maintained by undertaking and completing a range of cleaning duties as instructed in terms of promoting good hygiene practice, health and safety and cleanliness.
- To report to the Manager any incidents or concerns about the young people/or the home
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as and when required
- Ensure standards of the home are maintained through adhering to house rules, policies and procedures.
**Job Requirements**
- Be able to demonstrate interpersonal skills
- Have a genuine interest in working with our young people
- Will have a willingness to learn
- Be able to work 15-hour shifts plus sleep in and will include evenings, weekends, bank holidays in a flexible way to meet the needs of the young adults.
- Be encouraged to work at all of our homes to gain experience working with different individuals in different environments.

Pay: Up to £31,000.00 per year
