As a trusted and preferred recruitment partner to this prestigious global publishing firm, we have been asked to assist in the hire of a permanent Applications Support Engineer.

The role itself sits within our clients IT Business Systems team, with this position responsible for working with the Data Integration and Support manager to provide effective and professional support to the user's core finance and publishing systems. Inaddition, the role will also include data analysis and integration services.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Manage the support queue, including the proper classification of tickets in Zendesk.
- Assist with communications to business staff regarding system status and incidents.
- Assist with systems testing and configuration as directed.
- Monitor operations, such as scheduled feeds and interfaces: troubleshooting and escalating issues with these to Line Manager or team leads as directed.
- Field and investigate issues with data feeds to 3rd parties (aggregators and retailers); maintaining a log of these issues; working to reduce issues and improve the mechanism generally.
- Support data quality initiatives, including assessing, cleaning and loading data in bulk on acquisition projects, backlist data reviews, etc. as directed.
- Help to create and deliver documentation using Zendesk Guides and training materials aimed at the improvement and optimisation of title data for sales and for industry best practice.
- Produce reports on data quality and open issues for Business Systems colleagues.
- Maintain and bulk load title data on third party title databases (e.g. Amazon Vendor Central).
- Use third party ticketing systems (e.g. Amazon Vendor Central) to log, monitor and progress issues.

**Skills Required**:

- Customer-focused, with a professional, patient and friendly manner.
- Conversant with basic IT concepts.
- Strong systems aptitude.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good MS Office skills, especially Excel.
- Biblio3 software + ONIX for Books knowledge is a plus (but not required).
