**Residential Childcare Worker (Waking Night Shifts)**

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Residential Childcare Worker to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Monitor and ensure the safety and security of children and young people throughout the night, conducting regular checks and responding to their needs.
- Address emotional or behavioural concerns during the night with calm and professional interventions.
- Document all night-time activities, incidents, and interventions accurately, maintaining compliance with care standards.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to safeguard the children and young people.
- Perform health and safety checks of the home environment, addressing or escalating any identified risks.
- Coordinate with day staff during handovers, ensuring consistency and continuity in care provision.
- Uphold safeguarding principles and adhere to policies to provide a secure and supportive environment.

**Requirements**:

- A willingness to work towards achieving an NVQ Level 3/4 in Children, Young People, and Families Practitioner or equivalent qualification within a specified time frame.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to document observations and incidents accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to remain alert and responsive throughout waking night shifts, ensuring vigilance and responsibility.
- Basic understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
- Flexibility to work waking night shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Physical and emotional resilience to handle night-time incidents or emergencies effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to act calmly and decisively in emergencies.
