- £34,116.00- £35,013.00 per annum (based on £14.00 - £14.50 per hour, including £75 per sleep)

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Residential Childcare Worker to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead shifts effectively, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the home and adherence to care plans.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to residential support workers to maintain high standards of care and professional development.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and oversee individualised care plans, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Handle challenging behaviours using de-escalation techniques and appropriate interventions, ensuring the safety of all involved.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records, including daily logs, incident reports, and care plans, in line with regulatory requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact with external professionals, facilitating effective communication and collaboration to support the children and young people’s development.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, conducting risk assessments and addressing any concerns proactively.
- Foster an inclusive and nurturing environment that promotes the well-being, growth, and independence of children and young people.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in a residential childcare or similar setting.
- A willingness to work towards achieving an NVQ Level 3/4 in Children, Young People, and Families Practitioner or equivalent qualification within a specified time frame.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in supervising and mentoring staff effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and young people, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding policies, risk assessment processes, and care standards within a residential setting.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts, as required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviours and implement appropriate interventions calmly and professionally.
- Commitment to professional development, with a proactive approach to updating knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
