The payment services team at IN-SYNC are responsible for processing multiple payment runs each week, ensuring thousands of customers (PAYE and self-employed) get paid on time, every time - and we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leaderto join the team as Payroll Manager.

As the Payroll Manager, you'll use your extensive experience and knowledge of payroll and HMRC legislation to ensure effective and efficient processing within the team.

Whilst many of our payments are to self-employed individuals rather than PAYE, we require the knowledge and expertise gained from a payroll background to ensure full compliance and provide improvements in processes as needed.

As part of a small team, this is a very hands-on role - you'll be expected to work alongside the team in reconciling, preparing, and processing payments in addition to:

- second checking processed items to ensure accuracy
- authorising completed payrolls within the bank
- authorising credit payment requests
- reviewing company debtor reports alongside the accounts team to identify risk areas
- working with the Operations Director to ensure new clients have a smooth onboarding, regularly liaising with clients to ensure satisfaction and improve existing processes
- maintaining and upholding In-Sync's compliance and legislative standards

Additionally, you'll be instrumental in team management to ensure personal development and growth of individuals. You'll be able to use your prior experience to:

- conduct regular 1:1's, team meetings, and quarterly reviews
- monitor team and individual KPIs, regularly reporting results to the Operations Director
- manage day-to-day resource within the team to ensure the department is adequately resourced
- provide support and guidance to the team in all elements of their roles as needed

**Essential Skills** If you're an experienced in payroll legislation with a **minimum 2 years of experience as a Payroll Manager** (covering allowances, deductions, statutory rules, etc.) - ideally gained from within an outsourced payroll environment - we'd loveto hear from you

You'll have **proven experience in leading a team** at team leader or supervisor level and be confident in people management including 1:1's, setting objectives, and identifying development areas.

As an individual, you'll be a **natural relationship builder** - approachable and personable in your interactions with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients. With **strong written and verbal skills**, you'll be comfortable adapting your style to suit the audience and will be excellent at collaborating with colleagues across departments.

You'll have plenty of **practical experience within a heavy data-entry position** and will not be phased by getting stuck in with the team to process.
