**We are hiring a Peer Support Worker to join our inspiring and friendly team at Bristol Men’s Crisis House (Bradford Lodge), Bradford Upon Avon.**

1 x Part-time position available (28 hours per week)***

Are you passionate about supporting people? Bristol Men’s Crisis House offers a safe, supportive space for men in Bristol and surrounding areas, providing short-term care to those in need.

**How I will make a difference?**

The Peer Support Worker will form an important role in the community rehabilitation service to promote healthier and happier lifestyles among people with severe mental illness. The role will be fixed base at our Bristol Men’s Crisis House - Bradford Lodge. You will work alongside our mental health recovery workers, to proactively engage with the clients to offer a wide range of activities that will aim to improve quality of life. Examples of this could include supporting clients on a one-to-one basis to gain confidence going to the gym, or supporting clients in group activities such as healthy eating sessions in a co-facilitating role. The overall aim is to build sustainable behaviour changes to promote healthier and happier lifestyles.

**Essential experience, skills required for this position**:

- Lived experience of mental health illness and the willingness to share elements of your personal journey in a boundaried approach, to inspire others and to work in a relatable way.
- Good educational background (GSCE English and Maths equivalent).
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise. Ability to work under own initiative.
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
