London, United Kingdom Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Full time

**Help us get the best out of our people and shape a workplace that works for everyone**

As an HR Adviser, you'll be part of a busy, supportive team that plays a key role in helping our people thrive. From complex casework to everyday policy guidance, you’ll use your knowledge and judgement to support managers and colleagues, ensuring we deliver fair, consistent outcomes that help our services succeed.

**Working Style**:
You’ll be based in the Borough for 3 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.

**What you’ll be doing**:
Day to day, you’ll provide expert advice on a wide range of employment matters - everything from sickness and grievances to investigations and disciplinary hearings. You’ll manage a varied caseload and act as a trusted partner to teams across the council, guiding them through policies and helping them resolve issues with confidence and clarity.

You’ll also play a wider role in shaping our culture and continuous improvement. That might mean delivering training to managers, supporting interviews, reviewing casework trends, or working on cross-team HR projects.

You won’t be working in isolation - you’ll collaborate closely with our HR Business Partners and other specialists, ensuring a joined-up approach that supports our people strategy and wider goals.

**For further details, please review the**Job Description and Person Specification**

**What you’ll bring**

You’ll be CIPD qualified to at least Level 5 (or have equivalent experience), with a strong working knowledge of employment law and employee relations. Ideally, you’ll have worked in a local authority or similar setting, but what matters most is your ability to manage complex casework with professionalism and sound judgement.

You’ll be organised, proactive and confident, with a calm, solution-focused approach - especially when dealing with sensitive or challenging situations. You’ll also be someone who communicates clearly, whether you’re advising a manager one-to-one or presenting to a larger group.

We’re looking for someone who’s curious, collaborative and committed to getting it right - someone who lives our values of putting communities first, working together, showing respect and acting with integrity.

**Why join us**

At RBKC, we’re all in - investing in our people, our communities and our future.

Our HR team is known for its warmth and professionalism. We support each other, share knowledge and work together to solve problems in a way that adds value across the council.

You’ll be encouraged to develop your skills and supported to grow - whether that’s through formal training, shadowing opportunities, or getting involved in new projects. We know there’s always room to improve, and we want your voice and ideas to be part of that journey.

This is a chance to work with strong and ambitious services, including our ‘outstanding’ rated Children’s and Adult Social Care teams, and to help shape how we support the people who make those services happen.

**About us**

**Interview Details**

Interviews will be held on W/C 6 October 2025.
