**12 Month Contract - Maternity Cover**

My client a leading educational membership body for the legal sector is currently recruiting for a Education Coordinator on 12 Month Maternity Cover.

**The Role of Education Coordinator**

**Main Duties**

Make the arrangements for selection of applicants for interview.

Make the arrangements for interviewing scholarship applicants.

Recruit and arrange training for new interviewers.

Calculate value of awards using the means testing principles.

Update the database with scholar details and monitor the progress of scholars long-term.

Provide regular reports to the scholarships committee.

Provide administrative support to the scholarships committee.

Ensure information on scholarships is up-to-date on our website and provided to internal and external stakeholders.

Support the outreach work by assisting with occasional presentations to prospective members.

Provide administrative assistance to the Education Services Manager as and when required.

Assist others in the Education Department in organising events and activities.

Maintain a reasonable knowledge of the general duties undertaken across the Education Department.

Attend events both at the institute and outside of London for which the post-holder is either solely or jointly responsible to ensure their smooth running as required which will require weekend and evening working for which Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) will beawarded.

Some events will involve travelling nationally.

The amount of weekend and evening working and travel required will vary throughout the year and will include at least several events (some with overnight stay) a month during busy periods.

**Person Specification**

At least one year's previous experience in an administrative support role within a busy working environment.

Experience of working in a scholarships / grants awarding role would be desirable.

Experience of arranging events would be desirable, e.g. interviews, training events, careers events.

Ability to provide effective administrative support with a positive attitude.

Able to work in a helpful and professional manner and develop productive relationships with other members of the team, other departments, members (including senior professional people), and external contacts.

Willingness to help and support team members including being flexible to business demands.

A confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of communicating effectively with a wide range of people.

Ability to use own initiative and prioritise a busy workload with minimum supervision.

Good organisational and planning skills with the ability to deal with various tasks which may be repetitive.

Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and CRM databases.

A highly developed attention to detail.

Ability to demonstrate honesty and integrity in everything.
