Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within ENABLE Scotland by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is thatyou will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes - whatever they may be

Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

ENABLE Scotland creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

We are looking for personal assistants to support within some of our children and young people’s services within Edinburgh. This may include working a variety of shifts depending on the service you are match with but would include day, evening and weekendworking. ENABLE Scotland are committed to giving our personal assistants their rotas in advance to help them maintain a work life balance. Your role may include supporting people with personal care and medication, to manage their money, maintain their homeand mealtimes, as well as support to attend activities, meet up with friends and get out and about in the local community.

Here is a little bit about what some of the people you might be supporting enjoy doing:
Molly is a bright, bubbly and giggly 12 years old. Molly loves anything noisy but especially enjoys singing, playing musical instruments and listening to stories. Molly doesn’t communicate using words and would like someone who can learn what her noisesand facial expressions are communicating and be responsive to this.

Norman is an 8 years old boy with bags of energy. He enjoys going to local parks with his personal assistants to run around and burn off some of that energy. Norman needs a personal assistant who is who is fun and able to be a bit silly but able to followhis strategies to keep himself safe.
