Electronics Production Assistant

We are a Manufacturing Engineering company based in Somerton, Somerset, we have been in business since 1948 and our products are used all over the world.

This is a full time, permanent position with an initial 6-month probationary period.

We require an Electronics Production Assistant to help our team in building and maintaining our range of automatic microscopes and associated systems.

Basic electrical/electronics knowledge is a requirement for this role, as is knowledge of Microsoft Office and safe working practices. We will consider supporting formal training and qualifications for the right person.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

The below list is an outline only, it may change according to the day-to-day support requirements of the Company:
**The role**:
Assist in manufacture, service and repair of a range of quality control products.

This will include:

- Mechanical assembly
- Electronic assembly
- Machine wiring and, potentially (again, after suitable training), panel wiring
- Problem solving / fault finding
- Calibration.

**You will**:

- Have at least one year's electrical or electronics experience (this can include college work).
- Have dexterity in handling small components and good eyesight (corrected vision is fine).
- Have good soldering skills
- Be conscientious and diligent.
- Have an operable knowledge of MS Office and be confident with Microsoft Excel.
- Have a full UK driving licence.
- Be willing to learn.
- Be flexible with how you fill your working day.
- Enjoy being part of a productive team.
- Be considerate of safety including the safety of others.
- Possess a friendly and sociable attitude.

Experience in the use of machine tools as well as hand tools would be of benefit, although, full training will be given as appropriate.

Pay: £23,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
