Cyber Operations Specialist
- London
- Permanent (Hybrid)
- At QBE, our purpose is to enable a more resilient future.
- We are an international insurer and reinsurer with a local presence in 27 countries.
- The Opportunity
- We’re looking for a talented and driven Cyber Operations Specialist to join our Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) in London. This is a unique opportunity to step into a dual-focus position within a high-performing, supportive team that's at the heart of protecting our global operations.

You’ll bring your technical expertise, curiosity, and commitment to excellence to a role where no two days are the same—and where your impact will be seen and valued.

Your new role

In this dual-focus role, you'll be right at the centre of some of our most critical and dynamic security operations.

First, you'll help plan, coordinate, and deliver Purple Team training exercises. That means handling logistics, setting schedules, aligning resources, and working closely with key stakeholders to ensure each exercise runs smoothly and delivers real impact.

Second, you'll take the lead in driving remediation efforts that come out of these exercises, as well as Threat Hunting and Breach & Attack Simulations (BAS). You'll track findings, help prioritise actions, and make sure progress is made - following up with the right people to see things through to completion.

Alongside this, you’ll support the day-to-day delivery of services and help keep operations running smoothly. You’ll also play a key role in governance, risk management, and continuous improvement across the GSOC, working closely with the Operations and Service Delivery Manager.

Main responsibilities:
- Coordinate and orchestrate Purple Team exercises by managing scheduling, logistics, and resources across global teams, ensuring alignment with strategic security goals and maintaining detailed documentation of outcomes.- Manage remediation efforts from Purple Team exercises, Threat Hunting, and BAS (Breach & Attack Simulations ), working with risk teams and stakeholders to address vulnerabilities, track improvements, and ensure mitigation efforts are completed. Support post-exercise reviews to drive continuous security enhancements.- Drive service delivery and operational support for GSOC by managing change requests, monitoring KPIs, supporting governance and risk management, and collaborating with global teams to continuously improve security. Assist with post-incident reviews and maintain documentation for audits.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong background in cybersecurity, hands-on experience with tools like JIRA and Power BI, and ideally a qualification in Agile or another project management framework. Just as important, though, is your mindset—you’re someone who’s organised, proactive, and ready to adapt in a fast-moving environment.

As a global organisation, we work across multiple time zones, and this role may occasionally require flexibility in working hours to collaborate with teams around the world. We're a flexible employer—and we’re looking for someone who values that same spirit of adaptability in return.

Skills you'll need:

- Cyber security background, with an awareness and an understanding of the topics of Purple Teaming, Threat Hunting, and Breach & Attack Simulations.
- Hands-on expertise with JIRA and PowerBi.
- Experience in project coordination, risk management, and remediation tracking.
- Knowledge of AGILE or other project management frameworks.
- Great stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus.
