As a Communications Specialist at Cowbell, you'll be at the heart of our brand storytelling, crafting compelling content that connects, informs, and inspires. Reporting to the Director of Product Marketing, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our brand voice and messaging across a variety of platforms. Working closely with a global marketing team and cross-functional stakeholders, you'll help drive impactful campaigns and strengthen Cowbell's presence in the cyber insurance market, both in the UK and worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Craft clear, concise, and compelling copy for a wide range of materials, including:
- Website content, landing pages, and blog articles
- Social media posts and advertisements
- Email marketing campaigns and newsletters
- Product brochures, presentations, and other marketing assets
- Maintain and evolve the brand's tone of voice, style, and language guidelines across all communication channels
- Collaborate with designers, marketing managers, and other stakeholders to develop campaign messaging and ensure alignment with broader marketing strategies
- Conduct research into industry trends, audience behaviours, and competitor activities to inform content creation and ensure it remains relevant and effective
- Optimise online content for search engine performance (SEO) to drive organic traffic and improve visibility
- Proofread and edit content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Present content ideas and final deliverables to internal teams, business partners, and senior stakeholders, incorporating feedback and making revisions where necessary
- Act as the local marketing lead and point of contact for the UK sales, underwriting, and claims teams
- Support these teams by coordinating and participating in local industry events, conferences, and trade associations
Education
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline
Experience
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in copywriting, content marketing, or a related role (insurance sector experience preferred)

- Creativity and conceptual thinking: Skilled at generating innovative ideas and turning complex subjects into accessible narratives
- Marketing acumen: Strong understanding of marketing principles, audience segmentation, and content strategy
- SEO knowledge: Familiarity with best practices for search engine optimisation and experience applying them to digital content
- Adaptability and collaboration: Able to work independently and within cross-functional teams across the UK, US, and India
- Time management and organisation: Capable of managing competing priorities and delivering work to tight deadlines
- Attention to detail: Committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy in grammar, punctuation, and factual content
- Technical proficiency: Comfortable using tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, content management systems (CMS), project management platforms, and potentially design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
