**FUSION HOUSING** works across the Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield districts of West Yorkshire, providing help for our communities to find and maintain housing through legal advice, employment support, learning opportunities, supported accommodation and local food bank provision

**Supported Housing Officer - Calderdale**

**Hours**:Full Time (37 hours) Monday to Friday

**Salary**:Band 3A **£24,432 to £25,418 p/a **(with scope to progress to next pay band after 3 years)

**Contract**:Permanent

**Location**:Halifax (Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre)** - there will be a requirement to attend any HOMEs properties in Calderdale

Fusion Housing manages a number of properties in Kirklees, Calderdale & Wakefield for single people and families who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness. We are looking for someone with experience in supporting vulnerable individuals to realise their goals and help ensure our clients move on into independent, suitable accommodation.

**Do you have experience of**:

- Supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, finding out about their life journey and working together to make their goals a reality through support planning
- Ensuring clients are adhering to the conditions of their license / tenancy agreement, implementing appropriate sanctions where breaches occur.
- Providing person centred support to people who sometimes are facing very complex and challenging barriers such as learning disabilities, ADHD, anxiety, substance use and trauma
- Carrying out inspections to ensure housing is safe and appropriate
- Participating in property sign-ups and re-lets
- Encouraging individuals to build their confidence so they can create positive relationships
- Linking in with other professionals such as Housing Officers, Probation Officers and Mental Health professionals
- Helping remove the barriers people may have finding suitable independent housing.
- Finding a joint resolution to issues like anti-social behaviour or neighbourly disputes
- Being understanding and supportive when times are tough; you’ll become that friendly face for someone to talk and listen to, whilst supporting the client to tenancy sustainment.
- Having difficult conversations with the people you support; being open and honest about the challenges and putting a plan in place together about what to do next.

- Someone who enjoys working in a fast paced, dynamic team where people support each other and are happy to get stuck in.
- Being able to work on own initiative and enjoy the challenge of an ever changing workload.
