The role
Fugro are looking for an administrative assistant to join our Geotechnical team based in Wallingford on a permanent contract. As an administrative assistant, your role will be to provide administrative support to geotechnical engineers, project managers and technicians to enable the department, projects, and laboratory testing programmes to run as effectively as possible.
This job is for you if:

- You have excellent planning and organising skills and enjoy supporting others.
Who you’ll be working with:
You will work directly with project and laboratory teams located in Wallingford, and remotely with engineers onsite.
Here’s what a typical day would be like:
- Providing general administrative support creating, populating, checking and maintaining departmental administrative documents (e.g. timesheets, equipment checklists, training matrices), project data (e.g. key performance indicators, quality assurance, archiving) and laboratory data (e.g. test results, reporting)
- Working with proprietary software to print already finalised and approved documents ready for final report compilation. Assisting in preparing and issuing project reports in hardcopy and softcopy format using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat (pdf)
- Dealing with project correspondence, phone calls, photocopying, scanning etc
- Arranging project and departmental meetings. Taking and circulating meeting minutes
- Supporting or providing back-up as required to Commercial Department Administrator in making travel arrangements
- Archiving paperwork from finished jobs to ensure successful long-term storage and data integrity. Performing archive retrieval.
Who we’re looking for:
Essential
- 5 GCSE’s grade A - C or equivalent qualification including Maths and English
- General administration experience
- Confident communicator
- Highly organised
Desirable
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
