Pertemps are currently recruiting for one of our nationally recognised clients, who are looking to expand their team with a Transport Operator in their Manton Wood based office.
Your role as Transport Operator will involve acting as the first line operator when managing shipment orders end to end. You will also be required to monitor the platform to meet business KPIs and build strong relationships by providing support to carriersand shippers to execute day to day loads.
**Main Duties**:

- _Provide high quality, responsive and efficient customer service and deal with customers to a high standard_
- _Develop and maintain good professional relationships with both internal and external customers_
- _Assign new shipments to carriers and ensure they are completed within agreed timelines_
- _Ensure PODs for each shipment are quality checked and signed off to meet customer requirements_
- _Investigate and resolve carrier platform non-compliance, implementing robust corrective actions to reduce repetitive issues_
- _Provide technical support and training to carriers and customers_
- _Provide support with key administrative tasks_

**Requirements**:

- _Experience working within a Transport Administration role_
- _A general understanding of the UK transport industry_
- _Experience dealing with 3rd party sub-contractors_
- _Ability to work well under pressure, as part of a team and independently_
- _Able to travel within the UK_
- _Good system understanding and ability to work at pace_
- _Excellent customer service skills_
- _A flexible approach and a ‘can do’ attitude_
- _Microsoft Office skills - specifically Microsoft Excel_
- _Geographical knowledge_
- _Good telephone and written communication skills_
- _Adapt at quickly learning new technology and working in a digital, paperless environment_
- **Working Hours**:_
- You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8.5 hours per day with your shift beginning at either 7am or 8am. You will need to be flexible to work Saturdays or Sundays if required._
**Other Information**:

- The role will be paid at £10.97 per hour and will be offered on a temporary basis, with the view to go permanent. _
- You will be based in the office, however if you are required to work on weekends there may be the option to work from home._
