Hiring Wizard on Behalf of The Electoral Commission have an exciting opportunity for a **Contract Management Specialist** to join their Finance team.

Location: London, Cardiff, Edinburgh or Belfast with frequent travel to London

**Salary**: £55,000 per annum

As one of two Senior Advisors for Procurement, you’ll provide strategic commercial and contract management insight and expertise.

**Contract Management Specialist** - The Role:
This is an exciting time to join the Electoral Commission, with the electoral system making key changes and the horizon for government procurement changing too. You’ll oversee delivery of the contractual obligations, contract life cycle, and supplier management activities, thus protecting our commercial risk exposure.

**Contract Management Specialist** - Key Responsibilities:

- Provide expert guidance and support in precontract phase for contract planning, risk assessment, and feasibility analysis
- Collaborate with contract owners and procurement teams to develop strategies aligned with organisational goals
- Implement contract tracking mechanism for effective pipeline management
- Lead contract development and negotiation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Cultivate strategic relationships with key stakeholders
- Address performance issues proactively and ensure contractual compliance
- Lead vendor negotiations for dispute resolution and contract modification
- Facilitate dispute resolution processes and escalate issues as necessary
- Develop and implement exit plans for contracts nearing termination
- Conduct lessons learned sessions for process improvement
- Occasionally provide contract management training to internal stakeholders

**Contract Management Specialist** - You:

- Proven experience in contract management, including contract development, negotiation, and performance monitoring
- Strong knowledge of fundamental contract management principles and the contractual tools to drive value for money
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex contractual issues and develop practical solutions
